Karate (ages 6+)
Learn the traditional art of Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate. You will learn the basics of
Karate, blocking, and striking, as it is still taught in Okinawa today. Students will learn discipline, self-confidence, and how to defend themselves. The Beginner class (for ages 6–10) is for students with no previous training. The Advanced Karate class is for ages 10 and up. Class is done barefoot. New students: wear loose, comfortable clothing to class. Instructor: Master Sensei Peter Pekrul,
10th degree black belt
Days: Tuesday and Thursday
Winter Session Dates: January 7–March 20 (20 classes, no class 2/13 and 2/18)
Spring Session Dates: April 1–June 12
(20 classes, no class 4/15 and 4/17)
Time: Beginner 5:30–6:30pm;
Advanced 6:30–7:30pm
Location: Community Center Gymnasium Fee per session: $100 residents,
$110 non-residents
Sewing Classes with Miss Ashley –
Pick Your Own Project (Ages 16+)
Looking to take up a useful new hobby? These family-friendly classes are offered to both children and adults! Learn a new skill today while taking home your very own project! Open workshop for all ages! Students must bring their own machines and materials.
Location: Community Center Arts and Crafts Room
Instructor: Miss Ashley
Dates: Saturdays, 1/25, 2/8, 2/22, 3/15, and 4/5 Time: 9:30–11:00am
Fee: $30 per participant, per class

Sewing Classes with Miss Ashley
Looking to take up a useful new hobby? These family-friendly classes are offered to both children and adults! Learn a new skill today while taking home your very own project! Students must bring their own machines but materials will be provided. Adult classes are for 16 and up. Two sewing machines are available to borrow during class. Please let Parks
and Recreation know if you need one upon registration.

All participants must be registered. A parent and their child cannot sign-up as one registration, but any age is welcome for this class. Children can attend WITHOUT a parent too.

Intro to Stargazing
Discover the wonders of backyard astronomy in this explorative FREE class! Participants will learn how to navigate the solar system and beyond. We will learn about the planets, our moon, the dazzling array of constellations and stars, and the best ways to observe them all. Don’t miss out on this FREE opportunity to delve into this fascinating hobby!
