Youth
camp sunrise (ages 3–21)
A summer recreational program for those with special needs, ages 3-21 with physical, intellectual, developmental, and/or other health impairments. The camp is run by the Glastonbury Parks and Recreation Department and serves the towns of Cromwell, Glastonbury, Newington, Rocky Hill, and Wethersfield. Camp runs Monday–Friday, June 22–July 31 (no camp on 7/4), with a special 5 day Adventure Trip Camp session for campers ages 16+ from August 3-7 (transportation is not offered on these days). Each day runs from 9:00am– 3:00pm at Smith Middle School in Glastonbury. The fee for Camp Sunrise is $174/week and $204/ week for typical siblings. Adventures week is $204. Transportation is provided from the Rocky Hill Town Hall to and from camp for an additional $30/ week, if needed. Registration is on a first come, first served basis and begins on March 17, 2026. Special registration procedures are required, and registration is online only. Applications are available at the Glastonbury Parks and Recreation office or online at www.glastonburyct.gov/campsunrise. karate (ages 7 and up)
Participants learn the traditional art of Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate. You will learn the basics of Karate, blocking and striking, as it is still taught in Okinawa today. Students will also learn discipline, self-confidence, and how to defend themselves. The Beginner class (for ages 7–10) is for students with no previous training. The Advanced
Karate class is for ages 10 and up. Class is done barefoot. Students should wear loose, comfortable clothing to class.

tennis lessons (ages 4–17)
Quickstart Tennis (ages 4–13) is designed to
bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified games tailored to the age and size of the player. The High School program (ages 14–17) is designed for beginners to advanced players looking to play tennis or level up their game. Sneakers with non-marking soles required. Pickleball clinics (ages 8–17)
Children will participate in a variety of fun pickleball games that will begin to create or continue a love for the game. Players will begin to learn rules and the scoring system of Pickleball
if they do not know already. They will learn the basics of work to improve on serving, ground strokes, volleying, and court positioning based on their previous ability level. They will begin to learn strategy and tactics for more competitive play if desired. The goal of this class will be to foster an early love for the amazing sport of Pickleball! summer Basketball clinics with coach l. (ages 11–16)
Stay Ready with Coach L.! Lenaya Price, known as Coach L., is a lifelong athlete with experience from middle school to college – including a semi-pro tryout! Her high energy training is built for athletes who want to level up in the offseason. This small-group session is for players with organized basketball experience who want to stay in shape, sharpen their skills, or make their school team. Expect dynamic warm-ups, conditioning drills,
and basketball skill development to keep you in top game shape and performing your best on the court. We don’t wait to get ready – We Stay Ready! Instructor: Coach L.

crayola imagine Arts Program (formerly Art-ventures for kids) world of Design: think it! Draw it! Make it! (grades k–5)
Take a journey to the farthest reaches of the imagination while learning about the ocean, the rainforest, Mars, and a futuristic city, and more! Use the design thinking process to solve real- world problems in these different environments. Experiment with Crayola products and many art techniques like sculpting, storyboarding, collage, and mix media. Discover design, careers like graphic design, universal design, urban design, and produce design.

Building up s.t.e.A.M. using lego® DuPlo® (grades k–1 / ages 5–6)
It’s never too early to begin using the engineering design process! Children are working independently and cooperatively as they begin to explore simple machines using LEGO® DUPLO® early childhood materials. There will be 2 or 3 motion-based projected introduced each day
of the week with additional challenge activities for all building skill levels. Your child will have
the opportunity to work with and bring home
lab sheets showcasing what they build in order to share with family and continue the learning process outside of camp. Projects may include wedge launchers, scissor lifts, and drumming machines.

It’s time to explore the engineering design process! Children are working with standard LEGO® materials to problem-solve engineering challenges involving structures, levers, gears, pulleys, and other elements of simple machines. There will be 2-3 projects introduced each day of the week with additional challenge activities to accommodate all building skill levels. Your child will have the opportunity to work with and bring home lab sheets that demonstrate what they
are building so they can share with family and continue the learning process outside of camp. Projects may include drawbridges, flywheel cars, and amusement park rides.

incrediflix Film-creation camp (ages 7–13)
