Celebrate Jane austen’s 250th Birthday
Tuesday, December 9 at 6:00pm
Join author, former UK resident and Anglophile Claire Evans for a look at Austen’s final, unfinished manuscript Sandition. Learn about the real-life people and locations that informed Austen’s last work before her untimely death at 41, as well as how the seeds of her ideas came to life on the small screen. We’ll listen to Claire virtually via Zoom at our watch part at the library. Enjoy tea, sweets and craft a simple keepsake to bring home. Crafts and refreshments will begin at 6pm, the Zoom portion will begin at 6:30 pm. Registration is required.

We are excited to welcome back to the library Rachel Koladis, The Replanted Witch for another fun and tasty program. Learn the difference between an infusion and a decoction, the art of flavor pairings, gain confidence in creating your own tea blends using the tea pyramid, and discover the proper temperatures and methods behind creating the perfect cup of tea. a sound Bath experience with amy ordonez
Tuesday, January 20 at 2:00pm
Unwind into a meditative soundscape as you experience a guided gong bath, accompanied by singing bowls, chimes, rattles, and other percussion instruments. Amy will take us on a journey with the soothing sounds of gongs and Tibetan bowls to help us stay in the moment. She’ll teach us simple techniques that can be utilized in everyday life to help quiet the body and mind an allow us to settle into the present. Registration is required
trivia night for adults – valentine’s day edition

Federal Fashion with the dirty Blue shirts

While Europe’s drawing-rooms dressed in the Regency style, Americans were developing our own Federal style. Join the Dirty Blue Shirts for a show-and-feel of the clothing of the new Republic, the ways in which we stayed on top of European styles and the ways in which we made our own sartorial marks on the international scene. a Celtic exploration with harpist Wendy Kerner
Tuesday, March 24 at 6:00pm
Wendy will perform the wonderful music of the
Celtic people in heartfelt ballads, lively dance tunes, O’Carolan’s great airs, contemporary Irish songs, and beloved traditional tunes. She’ll teach us about the music and the history behind them with fascinating and exciting Celtic stories. Wendy will also educate us about the harp and its importance in Celtic cultures.
