Youth
skyhawks tennis camps for ages 6–12
Grab your tennis racquet and get ready to play! Whether you’re a beginning, an intermediate, or an advanced player, this program will improve your game and help you get more enjoyment
from tennis. Our tennis programs focus on skill refinement as well as practice and match play
to develop consistent, well-rounded tennis players. Each player is given personal attention and taught through repetition in and enjoyable, lively atmosphere. Skyhawks Tennis breaks down the fundamental skills of tennis through easily understood games and exercises to help improve the athlete’s overall coordination and technique. Players learn proper grips, footwork, strokes, volleys, and serves during a series of drills designed to teach skills in a fun and dynamic way. In addition to developing a love for tennis, athletes will learn the rules and etiquette that make tennis such an exciting game to play. Due to limited court space, these programs fill quickly!
Gear to bring: Tennis racquet, appropriate clothing, sneakers, and sunscreen

skyhawks Basketball
This fun, skill-intensive program is designed for beginning to intermediate players. Using our progressional curriculum, we focus on the whole player-teaching sportsmanship and teamwork. Boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of passing, shooting, ball handling, rebounding, and defense through skill-based instruction and small- sided scrimmages.

skyhawks sports and games camp for ages 7–12
Skyhawks provides a wide variety of fun, safe, and positive programs that emphasize critical lessons in sports and life, such as teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship. Our programs are designed to give each child a positive introduction into sports while fostering a lifelong love for an active, healthy lifestyle. For this camp, our patient and knowledgeable staff use a variety of skill- building games and activities to give each athlete a complete understanding and overview of many different popular sports and games. Sports and games include capture the flag, soccer, ultimate frisbee, kickball, baseball, 4-square, flag football, team handball, and many more!

Beginner golf camp for ages 5–8
Skyhawks Beginning Golf is powered by Payne Stewart Golf Experiences, the recommended entry-level golf program for PGA Junior Golf Camps. The unique, games-based play program and modified learning equipment make it easier for kids to hit the ball and expereience early success. Putting, chipping, poitching,a nd full swing are all taught through games, simple repetitive motions and learning rhymes that make it easy for young kids to remember and repeat. Specially designed, age-appropriate golft equipment is provided.

karate
Learn the traditional art of Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate. You will learn the basics of Karate, block and striking, as it is still taught in Okinawa today. Students will learn discipline, self-confidence and how to defend themselves. The Beginner class (for ages 6–10) is for students with no previous training and the Advanced Karate is for ages 10 and up. Class is done barefoot. New students: wear loose comfortable clothing to class.

tennis lessons for ages 4–17
Quickstart Tennis (ages 4–13) is designed to
bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified games tailored to the age and size of the player. The High School program (ages 14–17) is designed for beginners to advanced players looking to play tennis or level up their game. Sneakers with non- marking soles required. High School, 78’ court, Beginner to Team Player, 14–17 year olds – Tuesday/Thursday – 6:30–7:30pm

Park & recreation team tennis (grades 3–12 with three separate divisions)
Park and Recreation Team Tennis (PRTT) is a recreational team tennis league designed to give kids the opportunity to play team tennis, and
learn skills associated with the sport, develop sportsmanship, and fair play. Winning is an important goal, but it is not the sole purpose of the Team Tennis program. Matches will be held on either Wednesday evenings or Saturday Mornings. There will be three home matches at Rocky Hill High School and three away matches at other Park and Rec programs in the Greater Hartford Area. This program is coordinated by USTA. Location: Home matches are at RHHS. Away matches will be announced
