Cora Bear & Cub Pre-Preschool
Tuesdays at 10:30am
9/9, 9/23, 10/7, 10/23, 11/4 & 11/18
Ages 2–4
We’ll practice some developmental skills to help familiarize children with topics related to preschool! Activities will include colors, numbers, letters, days of the week, sharing and socializing, and a themed craft! No registration required. Limited to 15 families.
Babies & Bubbles

Ages 0–24 months
Get little bodies moving with lap bounces, tickles, lifting songs and rhymes and enjoy baby playtime. No registration required.
Playgroup Plus

Ages 18 months–5 years
Drop in and join us for stories, songs, bubbles and more! Stay for free play with a large assortment of toys after the storytime. No registration required.
Music and Movement

Join us for stories, songs, dancing & more! Music develops listening skills, awareness of rhythm and sound which helps develop early literacy skills. Fun for families with children 2 to 5 yrs (siblings welcome). Registration recommended.
Kids Chess Club
Wednesdays at 6:30pm
9/3, 10/1 & 11/5
Ages 5–10 years
Learn to play with other chess players. Chess boards from around the world will be featured. Recommended for children who are Chess Beginners – already know the basic rules of chess and can complete a game without assistance. Registration recommended.

Boomwhacker Bonanza

Ages 5–10
Discover boomwhackers – lightweight, hollow, plastic tubes that are tuned to a musical pitch by their length. Create music together, learn about beats and rhythms with these fun instruments. Attend 1 or all 3 classes. Registration required.
Learn to Code with Python
Saturdays at 2:00pm
9/13, 9/20 & 9/27
grades 9 and up
Join us for a three week introduction to coding with Python! No coding experience is required. Registration is required and participants must be in grades 9 and up, including adults. Your one time registration will cover
all three sessions and attendance is expected at all sessions.
The Bubble, Comedy and Music Show: Halloween Rocks!
Saturday, October 25 at 2:00pm
Ages 4 and up
Sing, dance, and move with the itsy-bitsy spider, bats, goblins, and ghouls. Mr. Matt from Turtle Dance Music will be live at the library. Children will be engaged with music technology and a monster mash dance party! The show is crafted to be inclusive for children of all abilities and a great time for parents and caregivers. Registration required.
Babies, Toddler and PreK Halloween Party

Dress up in your Halloween costume, go trick or treating, enjoy games and crafts and have a romping good time! No registration required.
Gratitude Trees Craft

Gratitude can improve your health, wellbeing and resiliency. Come create a gratitude tree with us. Think about things that you are thankful for and put them on your specially designed gratitude tree. Registration recommended.

Learn how to identify, sustainably harvest, and prepare the wild foods of autumn, from acorns through minty wintergreen leaves, including golden honey mushrooms and maitake, the “dancing mushroom.” Registration required.
Pen Turning Workshop

The Central Connecticut Woodturners (CCW) was founded in 1994 to support the needs of wood turners in the central Connecticut area. Learn to turn your own pen using a lathe with the Central CT Woodturners. Drop in any time between 10 am and 1 pm. Creating your wooden pen takes approximately 20–30 minutes. Registration is recommended.
Ghost Hunting with Charles Rosenay

Embark on a journey into the supernatural realm with
an immersive paranormal orientation and seminar by Charles Rosenay, complete with a state-of-the–art ghost hunting equipment. Will we discover that the library is haunted? Charles will have available autograph copies of his latest book True Ghost Stories of Connecticut. Registration required.
Hiking in the Italian Dolomites with Tim Lewis
