Juneteenth celebration with the ruby and calvin Fletcher African American history Museum Tuesday, June 27, 6:30pm
Come celebrate Juneteenth and learn more about the history of slavery, Jim Crow, and civil rights in the United States with Jeffrey Fletcher, Executive Director of the Ruby and Calvin Fletcher African American History Museum. This is the first museum in Connecticut dedicated solely to recounting the struggles and triumphs of African Americans throughout history. In honor of Juneteenth, Jeffrey will bring the museum to the library. This is a collaboration with the Rocky Hill Historical Society and the Rocky Hill Congregational Church.
Adventures in edible Plants: the 3 Foragers
Thursday, July 27 at 6:30pm Online via Zoom
Learn how to identify, sustainably harvest, and prepare the wild foods of summer, from beach plums to invasive wineberries, including some of the choice summer fungi like chanterelles and the myriad of pored Boletes. Join The 3 Foragers as they teach us about the edible plants and fungi of summer with their original photos and recipe ideas featured in an educational slideshow.

Principles of Flight: live eagle Program

Ages 7 and up
Held at the RH Community/Senior Center Horizon Wings presents a fun, educational program with live birds including an eagle. Explore the differences in the flying and hunting techniques of four species of raptors, including an American Kestrel, a Peregrine Falcon, a Red-Tailed or Broad-winged Hawk, and an owl. Bring your favorite stuffed animal friend to this fun event and learn how to take care of them when they are sick. Learn from the Rocky Hill EMS Department and get an inside view of the ambulance.
touch-a truck event: Firetrucks!
This is your chance to see a fire truck up close! Learn about how to operate them and what it’s like to ride them! Become a Junior Firefighter and discover some of things firefighters do.
teddy Bear Picnics
Bring a teddy bear or stuffed animal and a blanket or chair to sit on. Enjoy the fresh air outside as you listen to stories, sing songs, learn some rhymes, and dance to music.

Get your slime on! Make all kinds this summer- including glow-in-the-dark, fluffy, galaxy, mermaid and unicorn!
Books and cooks – A yummy new series!
Learn the science behind baking with the help of a very special library chef using a take-and- make kit to use in your own home. Each treat will be paired with a very special read -along too!
