Adult Drop-in Basketball
Whether you’re an expert basketball player
or a first timer, Adult Drop-In Basketball is a RESIDENTS ONLY program (Photo ID Required) that gives you the opportunity play some basketball for fun. Please visit our website for a complete set of rules.
Fee: $5 (exact change is required at time of check-in)

Aquatics
water Safety instructor Aide
The purpose of the WSI Aide course is to provide training for those wishing to assist Water Safety Instructors in teaching swim lessons.
The training will enable you to understand the role and responsibilities of a swim lesson aide. Anyone interested in volunteering for swim lessons must complete this course. Once completed you can select which summer swim lessons you want to assist with. Prerequisites: Must be age 10 and older, and swim at level 4. Students registered will be notifed of class times and dates.

lifeguarding course (for ages 15 and up)
The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies, and provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illness until EMS personnel take over. The course length is approximately 30 hours. Prerequisites: You must be a strong swimmer and at least 15 years old by the final class. You must successfully complete 3 swim tests at the pre course session to continue with the course. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory.

Adult Softball league
Rocky Hill Adult Softball has merged
with Wethersfield Adult Softball to form a
collaborative league. The league will offer
multiple divisions, mid-season All-Star Game
& Home Run Derby. All teams qualify for the
playoffs.
Ages: 18+
Dates: April 27 (weather pending)–August 20
Possible game Times: 6:00pm, 6:15pm,
7:15pm, 8:30pm
Locations: Mill Woods Park (Wethersfield),
Maxwell Park (Rocky Hill)

The Dog Park is located in Elm Ridge Park on Elm Street, Route 160. Open all year dawn to dusk.

water Safety instructor course
(for ages 16 and up)
The purpose of the American Red Cross WSI course is to train instructor candidates to teach courses and presentations in the Swimming and Water Safety program. The course will develop your understanding of how to use the course materials, how to conduct training sessions and how to evaluate participants’ progress. With successful completion of the course you will be able to teach Parent/Child Aquatics, Preschool Aquatics, and the Learn to Swim program. The course length is approximately 30 hours. Prerequisites: Be at least 16 years old by the last class and be able to perform the following strokes-front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke and butterfly; float on back and tread water. Being a lifeguard is not required to teach swim lessons.

Sea lions Swim team
The Rocky Hill Sea Lions Swim Team is a recreational team for ages 6–18. Participating
in swim team promotes individual ability as well as team camaraderie. Practice is held Monday– Friday, and attending a minimum of 3 times/ week is recommended. Meets are held in the evenings in July.
Minimum requirements: Must be able to swim 1 length of pool (75’) without stopping and dive into deep water. Swim team does not teach you how to swim. Swimmer should know basics of front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke. Coaches: Melisha DeMaio, Mark Catania

Adult drop in swim lessons will be held every Wednesday the indoor pool is open. A member of the lifeguard staff will work with you on your swimming skills. Learn the basic safety skills to more advanced techniques.
