karate
Learn the traditional art of Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate. You will learn the basics of Karate, block and striking, as it is still taught in Okinawa today. Students will learn discipline, self confidence and how to defend themselves. The Beginner class (for ages 6–10) is for students with no previous training. The Advanced Karate class
is for ages 10 and up. Class is done barefoot. New students: wear loose comfortable clothing to class.

Bunny Breakfast Bonanza
Jelly Bean the Bunny invites you and your family
to attend an extra special breakfast! For a small per person fee, families can take part in our continental style breakfast offering. Be sure to check our website at the beginning of April for more details!
Memorial Day Parade
Don’t eat too fast though, Jelly Bean has planned many fun filled activities for you and your family to hop into including but not limited to: Crafts, Games, Contests and More! Be sure to bring your camera for an extra special meet and greet with Jelly Bean! Be sure to participate in our Coloring Contest (see page 12), and our
Egg Decorating Contest (must supply your own pre-decorated egg). Entries can be submitted on Saturday, April 4. Winners will be announced on April 6 on our Facebook page.

If there is a magic elixir for health, what would
be most important ingredient? Arguably physical activity! Looking for some motivation to get more active? Or maybe you already exercise steadily? Either way, it is not too early to start thinking about the 2020 Walking Competition! Your participation in Central Connecticut Health District’s Four-Town Walking Competition will help Rocky Hill win! This six-week competition will be held from Sunday, April 26, 2020 through Saturday, June 6, 2020.
Registration through CCHD’s website begins April 15, 2020. Pedometers will be provided on a first- come, first-serve basis. Tracking will be available thanks to Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield via their “WalkerTracker” website/app. More information will be available on the Health District’s website at www.CCTHD.org the first week of April – Public Health Week. 2020 Walking Competition
5th Annual 5k run/walk
The 5th Annual Rocky Hill Run/Walk & Kids Run, benefitting the Rocky Hill Education Foundation will be held on Saturday, May 9, beginning and ending at Griswold Middle School. It’s a fun and exciting event that you don’t want to miss!

Park Pavilion rentals
Elm Ridge Park and Maxwell Park have covered pavilions available for rental. The rental includes picnic tables, trash
cans, electricity and use of the park facilities if not in use by a town program. An admission fee applies to the outdoor pool. To reserve a pavilion you must fill out a Request for Pavilion/Park Use form and submit with a $100 security deposit and rental
fee to the Recreation Office. The rental fee is $100 for a 4 hour time block. All requests will be reviewed before approval can be granted and a permit issued. No alcohol or smoking is allowed
in any town park. The Elm Ridge Park pavilion holds 100 people; Maxwell Park holds 30. The $100 security deposit will be returned if area is free of damage after rental. For more information please call 860-258-2772 or visit www.rockyhillct.gov/parkrec.
