  Our new Rocky Hill Senior/Community Center is nearly completed. In preparation of our opening, we have scheduled a variety programs. Please keep in mind that any or all programs may need to be cancelled or modified to follow current Health District safety guidelines due to Covid-19. We have made a conscious effort to plan outdoor events, classes and virtual opportunities whenever possible. Many of the programs listed are in person and may be postponed or modified. You will be notified of changes when you register.
Membership
Are you 55years old and interested in staying active and connected to your community? Become a member of the Rocky Hill Senior
Center located in a new state of the art facility. Membership is complimentary for Rocky Hill residents and $20 per year for non-residents. Applications are located on the Town’s website, may be picked up at the Senior Center or mailed if requested. Meet new people, experience a wide variety of recreational activities and enhance your quality of life!
  Arts and Enrichment
What a Collage!
Explore how to plan and create a thought
or an idea by layering a variety of materials- paper, paints, pens, pencils, natural objects- flowers, leaves, feathers, etc. Enjoy a tactile and relaxing experience working with the above included materials.

Book Club
This group meets once a month on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. If you love to read and socialize this is the club to join. New book every month.

Conversational French – VIRTUAL
This will be an informal French class. We will learn basic everyday expressions and words, read books, listen to music, sing songs, discuss French food and speak French! Rikki is a native speaker and has taught various levels of French for numerous years. instructor: Rikki Alrutz

Essential Greatness: JFK and America in the early 1960s – VIRTUAL
This set of lectures focuses on key aspects of John F. Kennedy’s tenure in the White House with special focus on how he learned and evolved as a president during some of the darkest periods of the Cold War.

Hand Wood Carving Class

Jam Session

Knitters & Crochet Group
Seniors meet weekly to knit, crochet, share ideas and work on projects.
Projects donated to various charities (homeless shelters, hospitals, nursing homes, CAP etc.)

Museum Tour: The House of the Seven Gables – VIRTUAL
Located in Salem, Mass. is a 17th century ship captain’s home. The house was later made famous by Nathaniel Hawthorne, who used it as the setting for his gothic romance The House of the Seven Gables in 1851. This tour will discuss the home’s architectural history, its connection to maritime history, and the importance of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s work. Pre-register by emailing gmarino@ rockyhillct.gov before 9/21 and the zoom link will be emailed to you on 9/24.
