Parks & Recreation Department Policies
Registration Process
Registration for all programs will begin August 26, 2024 (unless otherwise noted). Registrations will be processed in the order in which they were received: Online, phone or mail. Full payment is due at time of registration. A receipt will be e-mailed to you or printed at your request. In the event a program is full you will be placed on the wait list and notified.
Photo Policy
By attending or participating in a program, you give us permission to take and publish photos of you.
If you do not wish to be photographed, you must include this request in writing.
Non-residents
While we do welcome non-residents to register for our programs (except where noted), Rocky Hill residents will receive priority in the registration process. An additional non-resident fee may be applicable.
Payment
n Payment may be by check, cash, or credit card (MasterCard, VISA and Discover).
n Mail-in registrations may not include cash. n All checks should be made payable to:
“Town of Rocky Hill.”
n Returned checks are subject to a $20 service charge.
Financial Assistance
Funding is set aside to assist Rocky Hill families that require financial help in registering for programs. For further information and an application, please contact the Human Services Department, 860-258-2799.
Refund Policy
As Rocky Hill Parks & Recreation strives to provide excellent customer service, we make all attempts to provide top-quality programs at reasonable costs. Program costs are based
on participation numbers.
n If a program is cancelled by Rocky Hill Parks &
Recreation, a full refund will be given.
n Registration may be cancelled up to 5 business days prior to a program starting date. EXCEPT NO REFUNDS on tickets, trips, or pool passes.
n No refunds will be given once a program has begun, unless a doctor’s note is submitted excusing absence.
n Absolutely no refunds will be given for any used portion of a program.
n All refunds are subject to a $10 processing fee. Anyone registered for our programs multiple sessions (i.e. Summer Camp), the
fee would apply to each individual session
(7 weeks x 10 = $70) per child.
n When a program is run by a third party vendor
(i.e. Mad Science, Skyhawks, etc.) no refunds will be given 5 business days prior to start of the program.
n Your refund will be communicated to you at the time of cancellation.
Program / Event Cancellations
Throughout the year, programs and/or events may be cancelled for a variety of reasons such as but not limited to: weather, facility maintenance, unforeseen circumstances... In the event of a cancellation, it is at the discretion of the Parks
& Recreation Department to feasibly decide if programs / events will have the capability of being re-scheduled.
Cancellations Due to Weather
In terms of inclement weather cancellations, our department follows the Board of Education (BOE) school cancellation decision. In the event of:
n Delayed Openings: all Parks & Recreation
activities scheduled before 11:00am will be
cancelled.
n Early Dismissals: all Parks & Recreation
activities scheduled after 3:00pm will be
cancelled.
n Full Day Cancellation: all Parks & Recreation
activities will be cancelled for the entire day. Please be sure to check our registration website: https://rockyhillct.myrec.com to find the current status of our program/events. Make sure you register for email alerts from our department,

POLICY ON PROHIBITION OF DISCRIMINATION ON THE BASIS OF DISABILITY
The Town of Rocky Hill will not discriminate against any individual on the basis of disability, including a child with diabetes, with regard
to full and equal enjoyment of its programs, services and activities, including but not
limited to participation in its summer camp programs through the Parks & Recreation department. The Town of Rocky Hill will make reasonable modifications in policies, practices, or procedures, when the modifications are necessary to avoid discrimination on the basis of disability, unless the Town can demonstrate that
making the modifications would fundamentally alter the nature of its programs, services, or activities. Modifications shall include, but are not limited to, supervising, monitoring and assisting children with diabetes while using blood glucose monitoring tests, insulin pumps, syringes, and other diabetes-related medical equipment; and permitting such children to eat and drink as required to address their diabetic management, while participating in any program, service or activity sponsored by the Town of Rocky Hill.
